For lawn care and mowing companies
Lawn care business software for weekly mowing and seasonal work.
By Ethan Mason, founder of Beyond Wealth (Salt Lake City, Utah). Written from how the Business Suite works today, Nov 6, 2026. Where it falls short for this trade, we say so.
Short answer
The Business Suite lets a lawn care company set up weekly or every-other-week mowing once for the whole season, send each crew member their day on their phone, bill customers per visit or a flat amount every month, and see which lawns actually make money. Spring and fall cleanups, aeration and other extras go out as quotes customers approve online.
It costs $80, $197 or $341 a month depending on crew size, every tool included, no contract. It does not plan routes or track crews by GPS.
Set up the mowing season once.
Most lawn care software problems come down to one thing: retyping the same visit every week. Here, a mowing customer is one repeating job.
- Pick how often: every week, every 2 weeks or every month, starting on the first mow of the season.
- Give it an end date, like the last week of October, so visits stop when the season does.
- Assign the crew and a checklist once: mow, edge walks and driveway, string trim around beds and fences, blow off hard surfaces, close the gate. Every visit copies it.
- Visits fill in ahead on the schedule and on the crew’s phone, about two months out.
When it rains or a lawn is too dry to cut, move or cancel that one visit; the rest of the season stays put. If a customer quits, stop the series and every future visit nobody has started comes off the schedule. You can run up to 100 repeating jobs at a time on one account. If your route is bigger than that, talk to us before you sign up.
The crew’s day, on their phone.
Each crew member gets a private link. No app store, no password. It shows their jobs for today and the next 6 days, in time order:
- The address with an Open in Maps button and a button to call the customer.
- An on-my-way button that texts the customer from your business number (when texting is connected and the customer agreed to texts), or opens a ready-made text on the crew member’s own phone.
- The checklist to tick off, your notes (dog in the yard, side gate sticks), and a place for the crew to leave a note back to you, like “sprinkler head broken by the side gate.”
- Clock in and out on each job, and a done button.
You set the order of the day with start times. The app does not calculate the shortest route between lawns or track trucks. If you dispatch 40 stops a day across a big area, a routing tool may still be worth paying for.
Billing that matches how you sell.
Lawn companies bill three common ways, and all three work:
- Per visit. When a visit is marked done, turn it into an invoice in one tap. It has a PayPal pay link, and reminder emails go out if it isn’t paid by the due date.
- Flat monthly. Make a service plan, like “Weekly mowing, billed monthly,” and send the customer a private link. They subscribe through PayPal and it bills every month on its own, straight to your PayPal account. Plans can bill every 1 to 52 weeks or 1 to 24 months, so a 7-month season plan works too.
- Cash and checks. Record them in the Money tab so your totals are right.
Customers get a private portal link where they can see their visits, quotes and invoices and ask for more work, like an extra cut before a party.
Cleanups, aeration and the extras that pay well.
Seasonal work is where lawn companies make their margin. Send it as a quote with up to three options, good, better and best: for example, leaf cleanup only; cleanup plus bed edging; or cleanup, edging and fresh mulch. The customer picks one and approves it on their phone. You can ask for a deposit with the quote.
An approved quote becomes a job with the same line items, ready to schedule. If a quote sits unanswered, the quote follow-up automation emails on day 2, 5 and 10 and stops when they reply or approve. Before aeration season, send one email to past customers who gave email permission, filtered by city, tag or last job date.
Know which lawns make money.
Put an hourly cost on each crew member. The app multiplies the time clocked on each job by that cost and sets it against the price, so you can see profit by job and spot the lawns that take twice as long as you priced them.
In the Money tab, log fuel, trimmer line, blades and dump fees with a photo of the receipt, tied to a customer or a job. Track mileage for each trip. At tax time, export everything by category to a spreadsheet for your accountant. This is bookkeeping-lite for tracking, not tax advice.
Getting new lawns without more phone time.
- Missed-call text-back: you can’t hear the phone on a mower. A missed call gets a text back in seconds and the caller lands in your CRM. This runs on a Twilio phone number.
- Online booking for estimate visits or set-price services, with your hours, a minimum notice time and travel buffer between bookings.
- A quote request form on your site with a photo upload, so you can price many yards before you drive out.
- Review requests and referral links after each paid invoice, once you switch that automation on. Neighbors are the best lead source in lawn care, and a referral link makes it easy to track who sent whom.
What it doesn’t do.
- No route optimization or GPS tracking.
- No measuring lawns from satellite images. Price from a visit, a customer photo, or your own measurement.
- No pesticide or fertilizer application records for state licensing. Keep those where you keep them now.
- Each job is one day; a two-day job is two jobs.
- Payments run through PayPal only, and two-way texting needs your own Twilio number.
Which plan fits your crew.
Swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Plan | Business Suite | Fits a lawn care company that |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $80 a monthup to 2 crew members | is the owner plus a helper |
| Growth | $197 a monthup to 5 crew members | runs one or two small crews every day. We set up your booking page and first form with you. |
| Scale | $341 a monthup to 15 crew members | runs several crews. We move your contacts and jobs in for you. |
Every tool is on every plan. Plans differ only by how many people use the crew jobs page and how much setup help you get. Prices come from our pricing page. No contract, cancel anytime. Not sure? Try everything for 3 days for $8 once; it never renews on its own.
See every tool on the Business Suite page, compare prices on the pricing page, or add up what you pay now in the software cost calculator. Landscapers who also install should read landscaping software.
Questions owners ask.
Can I schedule weekly mowing for the whole season?
Yes. Make the customer one repeating job that runs every week, every 2 weeks or every month, with an end date for the end of the season. Each visit shows up on the schedule and the crew’s phone with the same checklist and notes.
Can customers pay a flat amount every month automatically?
Yes. A service plan bills the customer through PayPal on its own every month, or on another schedule you choose, and the money goes straight to your PayPal account.
Does it plan my mowing route?
No. You set the order with start times and each stop has an Open in Maps button. It does not calculate the shortest route or track crews by GPS.
How many lawns can I put on repeat?
Up to 100 repeating jobs at a time on one account. If you have more recurring customers than that, talk to us before you start.
What happens on a rain day?
Move or cancel just that visit in the schedule. The crew’s phone page updates, and the rest of the season stays as it was. You can text the customer from the inbox or from your own phone.
Is there a contract?
No. Plans are billed monthly, with no contract, cancel anytime from your account. You can try every tool for 3 days for $8 once.
Try it with real customers.
Every tool, 3 days, $8 once. It never renews on its own.
